Electrical/Computer Engineer

We design and manufacture food automation equipment in NYC.

We are looking to fill a position in electrical engineering. The candidate will play a lead role in implementing the electrical controls for custom equipment used for various food processing and commercial applications. As such, he/she will be working closely with project management as well as mechanical engineering staff to determine requirements.

Tasks include conceptual design and development, writing software for automation as well as Windows based human interfaces, testing and debugging existing designs, preparing documentation as well as product selection and sourcing.

The job also requires a fair degree of hands-on involvement with wire-ups, assembly and debugging of prototype hardware, and be available to travel on occasion for field debugging.
Good communication skills are a must, including complete written fluency.

Responsibilities
* Immediate short term responsibility in programming/debugging Allen Bradley PLC based control system;
* Design and program human-machine interface;
* Ongoing implementation of control systems for mechanical system;
* Component selection and sourcing;
* Generate and maintain UL related documentation for designs;

Requirements:
* Baccalaureate Degree or equivalent in Electrical/Computer Engineering;
* Experience in C/C++;
* Knowledge of embedded systems programming;
* Experience with an embedded windows type OS or RTOS a definite plus;
* PLC programming (preferably Allen Bradley);
* Good knowledge of industrial control technologies (PLCs, various types of motor drives, sensors, etc…);
* Good knowledge of micro-controllers;
* Strong written communication & documentation skills;

Additional / Valuable Skills
Knowledge of serial communication protocols;
