Mechanical Engineer

We design and manufacture food automation equipment in NYC.

The candidate will be working in a small but dynamic design team to conceive and produce custom equipment used for food processing and commercial applications, with a particular focus on ingredient portioning, dispensing, cooking and packaging in an automated food processing system.

Responsibilities

* Assisting in product development, from conception to production;
* Evaluating current designs for manufacturability and cost reduction;
* Component selection and sourcing;
* Preparing documentation, specifications and detailed assembly & maintenance instructions;
* Generating detail drawings;
* Generate and maintain UL/NSF related documentation for production facility;
* Assisting in setting up assembly shop;

Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering;
* Min. 5 yrs. Experience in automated equipment design;
* Experience with 3D CAD tools (ex: Pro-E or Solidworks)ncluding detailing;
* Knowledge of NSF guidelines for sanitary design of food equipment;
* Knowledge of UL safety guidelines for food equipment;
* Excellent written communication skills;
* Willingness to get your hands dirty if necessary to assemble/debug prototype equipment;
* Willingness to travel if necessary.

Additional / Valuable Skills

* Knowledge of manufacturing methodologies, especially sheet metal work;
* Knowledge of CAM packages (MasterCam or SmartCam);
* Knowledge with CNC machining (from programming to setups);
